Aram

The Tinker known as Aram is an interesting man. Tinkers follow the Way of the Leaf, believing that no man should harm another for any reason. Most Tinkers embrace this philosophy, but there are some who find it difficult. Some who are born a Tinker eventually abandon the Way of the Leaf, and go to live in a town. They are called the Lost.

Aram is one of these who find it difficult to live this life of peace. He is a proud and handsome man. Young women find him attractive, and his graceful ways make him difficult to resist.

He met Perrin Aybara and Egwene al’Vere when they traveled with the Tinkers for a time. Egwene he took an instant liking to, and he attempted to seduce her. Perrin, on the other hand, he disliked from the start.

Aram found the Way of the Leaf too difficult to maintain in a world where his family could be killed by brigands or Shadowspawn. So he abandoned the Tinker way, and took up the sword.

It is Perrin, the man he once could not abide, that he now swears allegiance to. He clearly admires Perrin’s strength and determination. Aram’s grandparents blame Perrin for Aram abandoning the Way of the Leaf, but that is a choice every man must make for himself. Aram now follows Perrin with the single-minded devotion of a hound to his master.
