This page was created as a way for me to communicate to the community what's going on with the site. The vast majority of the time this information is completely irrelevant. But when the site starts hiccuping, it's a way for me to let people know what steps are being taken to correct the problem.
Chat Room: Open
The chat room is the single largest stress point at wotmania. If the chat room is closed, it's the first line of defense against a server implosion. But it's also one of the responses that people like the least, so it's something I try to avoid. Random Quotes: On
The random quote generator is another item that can be a little rough on the servers. It's not nearly as much work for wotmania as the chat room, but it's a less traumatic change for the site than closing a feature like the chat room. Quick Picks: Off
The QuickPicks are on the home page, and provide random links to different features at wotmania. Turning off the QuickPicks makes it less likely that the home page will blow up, and avoiding that is a good thing. Ad Pacer: 0.00%
wotmania runs some of its ads itself, and directs the rest at Amazon. The number above tells you what percentage of the ads are being run by wotmania, as opposed to being pawned off to Amazon to handle. Check For New Notes Pacer: 6.67%
The number above represents what percentage of pages wotmania checks for new notes, in the event you don't already know that you have at least some unread notes. Please note that this doesn't mean you should keep clicking around randomly in the hopes that little window will show up - that would defeat the benefit of having it check only every few pages. The number above tells you what percentage of the time wotmania checks to update the number of pending notes you have sitting around, if you already have pending notes waiting for you. Since the actual number of notes sitting there isn't as important as having notes and no notification, this number will tend to be less than the "Check For New Notes Pacer" number above when the site is acting up.
